Dear Edventures community,

January was devoted to refining the Edventures platform and progressing partnership discussions. We’ve made significant strides in improving the user experience and are building relationships with key organisations across India and Europe, while diligently pursuing funding opportunities and more partnerships.

If you’re just getting to know us, here’s a recap

Whether it’s your first or hundredth newsletter, I’m so happy you’re reading this newsletter.

Edventures is an edtech and future-of-work startup based in Sweden, with a fully remote and international team, currently spanning two continents. We’re building a conversational AI that delivers personalised coaching and learning for every budding entrepreneur, helping first-time founders turn their ideas into real, viable businesses through guidance tailored to their specific needs and challenges.

You’re receiving this update because we’ve been in touch in the past weeks, months, or years, and because your work, interests, or experience align with our mission to democratise entrepreneurship education and support. We’re glad to have you following our journey towards becoming a global leader in entrepreneurship learning and support.

Read on to discover this month’s latest updates and milestones. If you’re in a rush, below are the key takeaways packed into a tidy TL;DR.

TL;DR

  • We deepened our existing team commitments through updated written agreements, with our focus firmly on product and partnerships.
  • We’re rolling out a major UI revamp with smoother navigation, multiple conversations per business, smarter Action Plans and Action Points, improved chat tools, and integrated note-taking powered by AI.
  • All UX improvements are based on user feedback and required significant backend work; a brief January illness caused delays, but we’re pushing to ship everything by the end of the month.
  • We’re in late-stage partnership discussions with organisations in Belgium and India, plus early talks in North America, with strong intent but no signed agreements yet and significant potential reach into the thousands and eventually millions of entrepreneurs.
  • We’ve applied to several major funds and accelerators, revamped our pitch deck, and are actively preparing for our upcoming fundraise.

đź’ś Team News

No significant changes in the team this month, other than deepening the commitment we already have through updated, written agreements. Focus has been on product development and partnerships.

⚙️ Product Evolution

Our main focus this month has been on refining the user experience, including a major UI revamp that gives you a completely new interface throughout the application. The currently live version (3.0) taught us what needed to change, so we’ve been prioritising simplicity, smoother navigation, and integrating valuable, often-requested features into the platform.

We’ve enabled multiple conversations per business project so you can keep topics clear and structured. This was the most frequent piece of feedback on the current version. We’ve also rebuilt action points and introduced a new hierarchy where Action Plans are made up of Action Points, making it easier to know what to focus on next, now supported by better tagging, an improved UI, and ability to AI-generate Action Plans and Action Points.

In the chat interface, you can now reply to previous messages and quickly copy entire messages with a single click. We’re releasing a note-taking tool so you can jot down thoughts while chatting, and our AI captures key notes for you.

All of this follows previous user feedback, and required additional backend tweaks to fully support the new experience. We did experience a slight delay in implementation due to illness within the team in January, but we’re now working hard to deliver everything by the end of the month.

🌍 Community

We’re in promising conversations with several organisations across Europe, Asia and most recently North America, all with a clear intention to move towards MOUs and distribution partnerships, even if nothing is signed just yet. We’re in the final stages of discussions with the entrepreneurship community at a leading university in Belgium, as well as with a well-known technology institute and a vocational university, both based in western India. We’re also close to agreeing a partnership with a leading innovation hub based in south India, which runs a leading pan-India incubator and focuses on supporting early-stage founders.

Alongside these, we’ve learned about two upcoming projects in India where our platform is intended to be included, including a dynamic youth-focused entrepreneurship programme operating across India and a state-wide entrepreneurship empowerment initiative for micro and small entrepreneurs in a south Indian state. As of this month, we’ve also started exploring collaboration with a global alumni network linked to an organisation that offers entrepreneurship and financial literacy programmes in more than 100 countries.

While it’s admittedly a bit frustrating that these partnerships aren’t signed yet, the intent on all sides is strong. The exciting potential here is that, together, these opportunities give us the potential to reach many thousands of users as a first step, and ultimately scale to millions.

đź’° Funding Opportunities

We’ve been actively pursuing several funding opportunities in January. We’ve submitted applications to the NewSchools Venture Fund, the Workers Lab Innovation Fund, and the Vinnova Wallenberg Fellowship.

We’ve also started work on applications to PLAI accelerator in Milano and Berkeley SkyDeck accelerator, with deadlines approaching early February. Along with these efforts, the new year, and our small but recent momentum, we completed a full revamp of our pitch deck, which you can access here.
